In the Republic of San Magnolia, proud of its 85 districts, the war against the neighboring Empire appears to have been officially won thanks to automated machines, without a single citizen having to shed their blood. Or so the government would have people believe. But in the shadows, an 86th district — erased from all records — bears the full weight of the conflict alone, sacrificing its fighters to protect a nation that denies their very existence.
