Chapter 1 — Episode 1

**Beginning:** On a regular school day in modern Japan, an energetic high schooler named Taiju announces to his science-obsessed friend Senku that he is finally ready to confess his five-year-long feelings to a girl named Yuzuriha. Senku sarcastically offers him a fake "love potion" — which is actually gasoline refined from a plastic bottle cap — knowing Taiju would never take it. Taiju heads outside to meet Yuzuriha, but just as he begins his confession, a mysterious blinding light flashes across the sky, and all of humanity is suddenly petrified into stone. **Middle:** Trapped in his stone prison but still conscious, Taiju refuses to give up, clinging to his will to survive and his promise to confess to Yuzuriha, even as thousands of years pass. He keeps himself mentally alive through sheer determination across what feels like millennia. Eventually, Taiju breaks free from his stone shell and discovers that Senku — who had been counting every single second while petrified — has already been awake for over six months, and reveals the date is October 5th, 3738 AD, approximately 3,700 years after the petrification event. **End:** Senku shows Taiju a primitive but functional camp he has built from scratch, and explains his plan to use science to rebuild civilization from zero and find a way to reverse the petrification. Taiju vows to contribute his physical strength while Senku provides the intellect. Together, they brew wine from wild grapes to produce nitric acid and ethanol, working toward creating a de-petrification solution, with Senku declaring they will reclaim the world — and save Yuzuriha — through science alone.
