Chapter 22 — Episode 22

**Beginning:** The episode opens with Senku, Chrome, and Magma forming an unlikely trio to venture into a cave in search of scheelite (wolframite), the ore needed to extract tungsten for vacuum tube filaments. Senku deliberately chose Magma for his brute strength to mine the extremely hard ore, despite Chrome's concerns about Magma's hostile intentions. Back in the village, Gen notices Senku's absence and begins secretly organizing the rest of the villagers for a surprise. **Middle:** Inside the cave, the trio encounters a dangerous natural trap — a fragile mica floor that crumbles underfoot — causing Magma to fall into an underground pool of cold water. Senku jumps in to save him, but his own body temperature drops dangerously low. Using a siphon system to drain the water, Magma ultimately uses his raw strength to pull them both out, and in the process has a pivotal conversation with Senku about power, leadership, and the value of science. Deeper in the cave, Senku identifies a skarn mineral deposit — a natural treasure chest of rare ores — and successfully locates the scheelite, glowing blue under ultraviolet light. **End:** Upon returning to the village, Senku is ambushed by the entire community, led by Gen, who reveals they have built him a telescope as a birthday present for January 4th — "Stone Day." Gen explains he calculated Senku's birthday by reverse-engineering the date Senku had carved near the cave where he first revived. Moved but characteristically stoic, Senku praises the telescope as practically useful for scouting against Tsukasa's army, while Gen reflects that he — and the whole village — genuinely cares for Senku beyond mere self-interest.
